This painting represents Christ with eleven of the twelve Apostles and the converted Mary Magdalene removing her jewellery.
Mary Magdalene is represented in the lower left corner, occupying the most important seat. Behind her, there are, from left to right, Saint Marcella, Saint Joan (with her hands together in prayer) and Saint Martha, with her arms crossed over her chest. Mary Magdalene is raising her left hand to her head, as if she was about to take off her rich headgear, while her right hand rests on her lap with a golden string, which she is about to let go. The jewels she has already removed rest on the floor.
Mary Magdalene is presented in a dress of rich fabrics, in contrast with the other three Saints who are dressed more humbly.
Christ is sitting on a Throne with a baldachin (canopy). He is dressed in a brown tunic and blue mantle; His left hand rests on the armrest of the Throne, His right hand is raised and open in a sign of acceptance.
