The Ducal Palace will be temporarily closed to public from 24 to 31 August, as part of rehabilitation works. During this period — and in order to compensate the inconvenience — admissions to the Guimarães Castle will be free of charge for all visitors. The Museus e Monumentos de Portugal, E.P.E. thanks everyone for their understanding and apologises for any inconvenience caused, reiterating that this intervention will contribute to improving the preservation, accessibility and visitor experience of our important National Monument.
Due to rehabilitation works, carried out as part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), the Guimarães Castle will be closed to public on 17, 18 and 19 August. The ongoing works are essential for the conservation, enhancement and modernisation of the Monument’s architectural structures and facilities. We thank everyone for their understanding regarding any inconvenience this may cause and promise to complete the works as swiftly as possible.
Next Friday, July 3, the Museum of the Ducal Palace will be closed to the public throughout the day due to a State event. Please note that the Palace's Ticket Office and Gift Shop will remain open and accessible to visitors. The Guimarães Castle and the Church will be open to public during their regular opening hours (10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with last admission at 5:30 p.m.). Please remember that tickets to visit the Guimarães Castle must be purchased in advance at the Ducal Palace Ticket Office (which will remain open) or, when applicable, through the online ticket office. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
