Covid-19 Protocol

Complying with the Artigo 3.º of the Decreto nº. 8/2020 of november 8, on November 14, 15, 21 and 22 , our Monuments will be open between 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM, and the last admission is at 12:30 PM.

Taking into account the COVID-19 pandemic spread throughout the world, in order to preserve the good health of those who visit us, some chambers had to be closed, there are some changes in the museological circuit in the Palace and the Watchtower in the Castle had to be closed.

The changes in the circuit have made it more changeling. However, people in wheelchairs or people with reduced mobility may use the elevator and follow an alternative route.

The special guidelines are as follows:

– The maximum number of visitors não must not exceed 50 persons in the Ducal Palace and 75 persons in the Guimarães Castle;

– The pace of entry is defined by the members of staff;

– The visiting period in the monuments should not exceed 30 minutes;

– Members of staff may have to advise you to continue the circuit so that others may also visit the monuments;

Social distancing must be observed (a minimum of 2 meters or 6 feet apart);

– The use of a mask is mandatory;

Hands must be sanitized at the entrance of the Palace;

– The information about the chambers is accessible online through the visitor’s mobile phone.

We are open every day between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

The Ticket Office for our Monuments is in the Ducal Palace.

Closed on January 1, Easter Day, May 1 & December 25.

Journalists in the exercise of their functions and when previously scheduled;

– Groups of Portuguese social solidarity associations when previously approved by the Direção Regional de Cultura do Norte;

– Members of Portuguese cultural associations;

– Persons with reduced mobility and one accompanying person;

– Holders of the Portuguese Veterans Card;

Teachers and students of any education level on dully scheduled school trips. All the activities must be previously scheduled (min. 8 days) through the Educational Services e-mail, including the identification of the Institution, number of people, desired date and time of the visit, as well as a contact of the person in charge of the group.
