We inform that, following authorisation granted on April 10 — within the scope of the Recovery and Resilience Plan interventions — the museum areas of the Ducal Palace will be closed to public from April 13 to 17, 2026. The Ticket Office and the Gift-shop will remain open, ensuring visitor access to the inner courtyard. This temporary closing is essential to guarantee the safety of our Collections, allowing for the dismantling of the spaces in the north wing and their subsequent installation in the south wing. The Guimarães Castle and the Church of São Miguel will remain open during their usual hours (10:00–18:00, last admission at 17:30). We regret any inconvenience caused and emphasise that these interventions are fundamental for the enhancement of this Heritage, which belongs to us all.

We inform our visitors that, as part of the second phase of the rehabilitation and accessibility works (PRR), the Ducal Palace will progressive close several chambers of the Museum circuit from 9 March. This intervention is essential for the preservation of our Heritage and to ensure a more inclusive and enhanced visitor experience in the future. Given the significant reduction in the areas open to visitors, the M.M.P. has decided to grant free admission. We thank everyone for their understanding. We are working so that our Palace will soon fully reopen in all its splendour!

TEMPORARY CLOSING – MONDAY MORNING Due to technical reasons, on January 12, the Ducal Palace will be closed until 1:00 PM. The Guimarães Castle and the Church of St. Michael will remain open to public during the regular opening hours: from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (last admission at 5:30 PM). We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
