A basin with geometric patterns. It is ‘a piece which satisfies the needs of a less demanding person who only wants to use the basin for their daily tasks, as well as in their hand work which is similar to what happened in Coimbra during the same time (i.e. before ‘Ratinhos’ [little mice]. The expression refers to the Rural workers from the Beiras who migrated seasonally to the Alentejo during the harvest time). As with this example, this type of crockery was used by ordinary people in daily tasks so the decoration is of secondary importance.
