A punchbowl, from the ‘Pink Family,’ made of white porcelain covered in an indigo glaze. It is decorated in gold and brown with an iron-red outline. In the centre, there is a lotus flower.
The flowers in these objects have their own symbolism: the peonies, evoke the Spring flowers, richness and prosperity; lotuses symbolize purity; and plum tree flowers – according to the Laozi tradition, the founder of Taoism which was raised under its branches – symbolize purity, beauty and longevity.
